Fees & Investment
I believe that clarity about fees is an act of respect. What follows is a straightforward account of what working together costs, how payment works, and how you may be able to use your insurance benefits even though I am not in-network.
All sessions are held virtually via secure, HIPAA-compliant video. Payment is due at the time of service.

Why I Practice Private Pay
Choosing to work outside of insurance is one of the most client-protective decisions I have made in my practice. Here is why it matters to you.
When insurance is involved, your diagnosis, treatment notes, and session content become part of a claim, owned by the insurance company, accessible to their auditors, and potentially visible to future insurers or employers. In my practice, what you share stays between us. No diagnosis is required for billing. No chart is submitted for review. Your story is yours.
Insurance companies also determine what care is "medically necessary": how many sessions are covered, which diagnoses qualify, and what treatment looks like. Those decisions are made by administrators who have never met you. In a private-pay practice, the pace, length, and focus of our work is shaped entirely by what your healing requires, not by a coverage policy.
Insurance billing also requires a formal psychiatric diagnosis on every claim. For many of the people I work with, high-achieving professionals navigating burnout, leaders seeking deeper integration, people carrying stories that do not fit neatly into a diagnostic code, that label is neither accurate nor useful. Private pay means we are never required to pathologize your experience in order to justify your care.
The investment reflects twenty years of clinical experience, a proprietary therapeutic framework, and a level of focused, specialized attention that standard therapy settings rarely offer.
The investment is real. And so is the freedom it creates.
Superbill for Out-of-Network Reimbursement
If you have a PPO insurance plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services. I provide a monthly Superbill, a detailed receipt that contains all the information your insurance company needs to process a reimbursement claim on your behalf. Many PPO clients recover between $80 and $120 per session through out-of-network reimbursement, which can reduce the effective net cost of a session to between $105 and $145 depending on your plan.
Reimbursement rates vary by plan. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider before we begin and ask the following questions:
- Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
- What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?
- What percentage of the session fee will you reimburse after the deductible?
- How do I submit a Superbill for reimbursement?
Please note: I cannot guarantee reimbursement. Submitting a Superbill is your responsibility, and reimbursement decisions are made solely by your insurance provider.
How Payment Works
Payment is due at the time of each session. I accept all major credit cards, debit cards, HSA cards, and FSA cards. Payment is processed securely through my client portal.
A credit card on file is required to hold your appointment. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled session will be charged the full session fee.
Good Faith Estimate: Your Right to Know
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care before beginning services. I am happy to provide this upon request. For questions or to request a Good Faith Estimate, please contact me through the contact page.
